WHO SHOT THE GENERALS

A few weeks after a failed rebellion of The September 30 Movement in 1965, some suspected on that case were interrogated by a military police officer.

After the interrogation, the journalist were allowed to ask what ever they want to know. So one of them asked, who shot the generals. The suspected man answered, ” I did”.

The answer was actually right. But what then has happened. One of the journalist wrote with the big heading in his English newspaper as ”Aidit shot the generals”. It was certainly a blunder.

Yes indeed, Aidit was a Secretary-generaal of Indonesian Communist Party, the highest top leader of the Party that indicated infolved into the rebellion. But he was not the man who shot the seven dead generals.
